Function of tRNA and mRNA
1. mRNA (messenger RNA):
Carries genetic code from DNA in the nucleus to the ribosome for protein synthesis.
Codons (triplets of nucleotides) on mRNA specify amino acids in a sequence.
Example: AUG (start codon) codes for Methionine in translation initiation.
2. tRNA (transfer RNA):
Delivers specific amino acids to the ribosome during translation.
Has an anticodon loop complementary to the mRNA codon and an amino acid attachment site.
Example: tRNA^Met carries Methionine to the AUG codon.
